If you're someone who's looking to take AWS certification exams and is probably wondering if you can get an exam voucher, then you've come to the right place. It was just a few months ago that I was looking out on the internet for the same for taking my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam until I discovered quite a few programs and events through which you can get your exam voucher. Let me help you look through different programs where you can apply for exam vouchers and discounts. Note that these programs are for folks whose company or organization is not sponsoring their exams already.

So, if you are someone who is planning to take the first basic foundational certification (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner), then there are a couple of ways you can get your hands on the voucher. For all the women and girls out there, there is a very useful program that AWS offers, i.e., "Cloud Up for Her Practitioner," which is aimed at women who are just getting started with their AWS certification journey. This program offers both the training and resources required for exam preparation. Before requesting the 50% discount voucher, you might need to complete "AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials", a 6-hour free digital training course. One can also access resources like exam guides, links to training, recommended technical documentation, etc. So, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and register yourself.

After you finish the registration, you might need to complete the required training from the AWS Skill Builder. You'll be prompted with a confirmation email something like this:

After you fulfill the above requirements, you can request your exam voucher via email. Once your eligible request is confirmed, the exam voucher will come through Xvoucher directly to your email. And it should probably be in your inbox in no more than 6–8 business days. In my case, it took me around 7 days to get my voucher, and boom, you're good to go!

AWS also offers free online training for everyone on a few specific days, namely "AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials Day" and "AWS Skill Builders Day," etc., through its online events, wherein if you register and attend the event, you'll be eligible to get an exam voucher. Once you bag your first global certification from AWS, you're eligible for different exam vouchers from there on for other associate-level exams, namely Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator, Developer Associate, and so on. AWS also runs seasonal discounts and giveaways sometimes during the year, where you get to take some of the exams for free.
